Analisse Taft-Gersten, owner and founder of the ALT for Living Showrooms has transformed the meaning of luxury with her unique one-stop-shop experience.

Being immersed in the design community for over 10 years in Los Angeles, Analisse decided to take the next step forward and move to New York City to start her own business. In 2008, Analisse saw an opportunity in the market to curate something special. She took a bold leap and opened ALT for Living offering designers and architects a special place to come and experience all that design has to offer. A showroom to get lost in and to inspire creativity.

Today, Analisse owns tHREE beautiful lifestyle showrooms in NYC, Los Angeles, AND SAG HARBOR. Most recently, she OPENED THE 1818 COLLECTIVE WITH BUSINESS PARTNER AND CO-FOUNDER KRISTIN FINE. THIS DESIGN COLLECTIVE SHARES THE SAME PROPERTY AS THE ALT EAST SHOWROOM, CREATING AN IMMERSIVE DESIGN EXPERIENCE IN THE HAMPTONS.

Alt for living

The ALT for Living showroom, located in the heart of the Flatiron District offers a unique, one-stop shopping experience for the trade.

ALT for Living features a cultivated assortment of fine carpets, textiles and home furnishings perfectly suited for modern living. Presented in a boutique-like atmosphere, our collection is curated with an “eye” on what designers are looking for.

ALT LA

ALT LA is a trade only showroom located in the heart of the design district of Los Angeles, California. The showroom will offer many of the same luxurious goods from handmade rugs, artisan textiles, to chic accessories that the NYC flagship showroom is known for. In addition to those familiar lines, the showroom will offer exclusive collections to LA that can only be found at ALT.

ALT EAST

ALT East is ALT for Living's newest textile and rug outpost located in the heart of the Hamptons. Analisse Taft-Gersten, the founder of all three ALT for Living showrooms, discovered a unique post-pandemic business opportunity by opening a showroom in Sag Harbor late Spring 2022. Analisse observed many designers moving out east full time during COVID, and wanted to provide the design community a local resource for them to shop their projects...

ALT East is nestled in the charming back cottage of The 1818 Collective, a new design venture by Analisse and co-founder Kristin Fine. ALT East has a large selection of fabrics, rugs, wallpaper and accessories, making it the new destination for the design curious.
